Le Visioni di Medusa (The Visions of Medusa) is the work that gave the title to the opening exhibition for Restarte’s new gallery space in Milan. In this show Giorgio Bevignani takes us through the intimate creative process marked by various stages of his work. An opportunity to recognize and understand through his use of different materials, media, shapes, colours, the artist’s tireless artistic quest.
Visions of Medusa represents the link between suspended installations (such as Europe or Jordan's Red Water) and the latest sculptures that come from that unknown underwater world and the Bevignani ‘s imaginary Medusa (who, unlike the myth, follows Poseidon to the bottom of the sea) sees around her. But they are also and above all the ‘Visioni di Giorgio’ (The Visions of George), baths of primordial light in unexplored depths, travels in a cosmic oceans where the sky reflects into the sea merging into a single primordial atom at the origin of light and matter.
Curated by Niccolo’ Moscatelli, who also wrote the introduction to the exhibition catalogue.
